Product Introduction

TOPPER professional metallographic grinding paper is a specialized water-resistant abrasive paper used in the grinding (polishing) step of metallographic specimen preparation. It uses aluminum oxide or silicon carbide as the abrasive, with abrasive grains uniformly attached to a latex paper backing by electrostatic coating. It is usually cut into circles and used with a metallographic grinding and polishing machine. Grinding progressively from coarse to fine grit removes the deformed layer and scratches caused by cutting, preparing the specimen for subsequent polishing.
