Product Introduction
Room-temperature mounting consumables, i.e., cold mounting (cold embedding) materials, are typically composed of two components: a resin and a curing agent. They cure and form at room temperature without heating, pressure, or a dedicated mounting press. They are mainly used in the mounting step of metallographic specimen preparation, and are especially suitable for specimens that are sensitive to temperature or pressure, or that are small or irregular in shape, facilitating subsequent grinding, polishing, and microscopic observation.
Main Technical Parameters
- Composition: two-component resin and curing agent (epoxy or acrylic system)
- Curing method: room-temperature curing, no heating or pressure required
- Curing time: epoxy type approx. several hours; acrylic type approx. 10–30 minutes (depending on model)
- Mixing ratio: by volume or weight according to model; mix thoroughly before use
- Applicable specimens: specimens that cannot withstand heat or pressure, such as electronic components, PCB, and porous materials
Product Features
- No heating, no pressure, no mounting press required; simple operation
- Room-temperature curing prevents changes in specimen structure due to heat or pressure
- Low shrinkage, providing good protection for specimen edges and interfaces
- Good transparency after curing, facilitating observation of specimen position
- Suitable for flexible mounting of multiple types and single-piece specimens in the laboratory
